Walmart Canada makes senior executive leadership changes

Walmart Canada is making some senior executive changes to support the company’s growth.

Mohammed  Abdool-Samad has joined the company as chief financial officer. John Bayliss is the new chief administration officer. Michon Williams is appointed chief technology officer and Joe Schrauder has taken on the role of vice president of operations and chief of staff to the CEO.

Prior to his new role, Abdool-Samad was group chief financial officer at Walmart’s Massmart business in South Africa, joining the company in 2019. Before joining Massmart, he was group finance director at a sugar producer and spent a decade in various executive finance positions at a major mining company. 

Bayliss was executive vice president, transformation officer and senior vice president of supply chain for Walmart Canada. Before joining Walmart Canada, John worked in consulting for over 16 years, acting as a core member of the firm’s global retail leadership team and serving retail clients in Canada, the US, UK, Europe, and Australia.

Williams previously held the role of vice president, technology (product and delivery) at Walmart Canada. Prior to Walmart Canada, she had a long career in technology leadership and online banking development in financial services. 

Schrauder is relocating to Canada from Bentonville, Arkansa, where he held the role of vice president, International Operations & Realty, Walmart International. He has spent his career with Walmart, beginning in-store and dedicating over 20 years of experience so far to Walmart U.S. and International operations.
