Amazon is expanding in Metro Vancouver and creating over 2,000 jobs in the area at several facilities.

One facility will be a 450,000 sq ft advanced robotics fulfilment centre in the Port of Vancouver. Another will be a sorting centre in the city of Langley.

There will also be two delivery stations, one in Pitt Meadows and one in Delta. All four are expected to open by the end of 2021.

Amazon previously opened a delivery station in Langley Township earlier this year and currently employs 5,500 workers in B.C., its largest employment hub outside of Washington State.

“We’re thrilled to expand our network in British Columbia to better serve our customers while offering our employees bright, safe careers with on-the-job training and upskilling,” says Sumegha Kumar, director of Canadian customer fulfillment operations, Amazon Canada. “Our new facilities will help us meet our customers’ growing demand for great products and faster delivery times while also expanding the service and support we can provide to the thousands of local small businesses selling their products on Amazon.”
