Larry Chmielewski, vice president of wholesale for Associated Grocers, has announced he plans to retire September 30 after a 49-year career in the industry.
Chmielewski spent 35 of his 49 years in the industry with Associated Grocers. In a note to announce his retirement, Associated Grocers’ president Dan Bregg described him as an “unwavering advocate and supporter of the independent grocery” and expressed his appreciation for “the support and friendship Larry has given me since we began working together more than 20 years ago.”
