Buy Low Foods has donated more than $294,000 to a local B.C. children’s charity, Variety – The Children’s Charity, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting local communities.

Buy Low Foods employees recently participated in an annual telethon for Variety on February 9.

Dan Bregg, president of Buy-Low Foods, says the company has a long-standing tradition to support communities that the company serves.

“Most of our community support is managed at the individual store level, where we believe our people are best positioned to know and understand the needs of their communities. However, to ensure that the donations we give and events we sponsor will reach a broad base of the community, with a particular preference for groups and events that are focussed on kids, in the early 1990s, Buy-Low Foods made Variety – The Children’s Charity its corporate charity of choice. Throughout the year, Buy-Low sponsors several events and activities to raise funds for Variety, the largest two being the annual Customer/Supplier Golf Tournament held in late July each year and the Buy-Low Foods/Variety Vintage Market  & Auction held at the Bayshore Inn in Vancouver each November.
