China has lifted restrictions on two Canadian canola companies it alleged had infested product in a move observers said was really about retaliation for the arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou in 2018, as reported by The Toronto Star.
On Wednesday, Beijing posted an updated list on its customs website. The list now shows two producers whose licences had previously been suspended are now allowed to export to China, a move potentially worth more than $2 billion to the Canadian industry.
