Costco November sales up 15%

Costco Wholesale Corporation released its latest financial results, November 2020 and first quarter fiscal year 2021 sales. While sales increased 15 per cent and ecommerce sales climbed 71.3 per cent, the numbers were down from the previous two months.

For the four weeks in November, comparable sales in Canada increased 15.8 per cent versus 17.7 per cent and 17.5 in the 12 week and 13 week periods respectively, which were stronger than the sales performance for the U.S., which reported increases of 12 per cent for the four weeks in November, 14.6 per cent for the 12 week period and 13.4 per cent for the 13 week period.

Corporate-wide, for the twelve-week first quarter which ended November 22, 2020, Costco reported net sales of $42.35 billion, an increase of 16.9 per cent from $36.24 billion last year.

For the thirteen weeks ended November 29, 2020, the Company reported net sales of $46.33 billion, an increase of 16.0 percent from $39.95 billion during the similar period last year.

Costco operates 102 warehouses in Canada.
