Three long serving members will be retiring from the board of trustees of Crombie REIT, the real estate trust of the Sobey family. And Jana Sobey, Sobey’s vice president of field merchandising, will become Empire’s appointed trustee on the board, replacing Jason Shannon. Shannon will seek election as a trustee at the May 9 AGM after being an Empire Company Ltd. appointee to the board since 2016.
Board chair Frank Sobey, Brian Johnson and Kent Sobey will step down at the AGM, Crombie has announced. The new chair will be announced and appointed after the AGM.
The Crombie REIT portfolio includes 288 properties and the trust has an enterprise value of $4.6 billion.
