Farm Boy plans to open its downtown Toronto store in October and is hiring staff in preparation for it.
Farm Boy has been rapidly expanding over the course of the past two years. The grocer currently operates 31 stores in Ontario with plans to open seven more over the course of 2020 and 2021.
In December 2019, Farm Boy announced its expansion plans, with co-CEO Jeff York (now a partner and special advisor to Farm Boy and Empire Company Limited) stating that that the chain was “entering an exciting phase of our growth plans as we expand our presence in the GTA and Ottawa, while also entering new markets like the Niagara region.”
