Feds invest $2.5 million to support Quebec berry supplier

The Government of Canada is investing $2.5 million in support of Fruit d’Or, processor of cranberries and blueberries.

The investment aims to enhance production capacity by acquiring new equipment and creating an automated production line.

“The Government of Canada has a mission to accompany the country’s businesses into tomorrow’s economy and help them seize the business opportunities that will arise,” says Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food. “That is why we are supporting key sectors—including the agri-food sector—in the various regions of Quebec. Projects such as this one by Fruit d’Or will help ensure an inclusive recovery and create good jobs in our communities.”

The funds have been generated through the Regional Economic Growth through Innovation program, which targets entrepreneurs.
