Canadian Women in Food (CWIF) has launched an online shop to help female food entrepreneur members of the association promote their products.
“We recently launched the online shop to help strengthen the relationship between our members and the communities they serve,” says Cheryl Appleton, founder of CWIF. “We understand consumers are focused now more than ever on supporting entrepreneurs for whom their cause best aligns with their own values. The online shop helps to illuminate the amazing innovation and product development by women-owned businesses.”
Appleton adds the current crisis accelerated the idea to create the online shop for members because physical distancing has had a big impact on member businesses.
“Traditional sales channels for reaching consumers have also been overwhelmed and appear to be narrowly focused on providing the necessities, thereby limiting new product introductions and innovations.”
