Euromonitor’s health and nutrition survey showed that 42 per cent of consumers are flexitarians and driving a plant-based shift globally.

Flexitarians are those who actively eat less animal-based products.

54 per cent of those survived are generation Z, who are said to be avoiding animal-based products more and more.

The demand for plant-based foods is expected to grow, along with milk and meat alternatives, according to the study.

The main factors reported for being plant-based were health, animal welfare and environmental concern.

The number of vegans reported were four per cent and vegetarians at six per cent globally.
