Earl Near

Earl Near was president of A&P Canada when he retired in 2002. In that capacity, he oversaw the successful launch of Food Basics in Ontario. Near began his career in the meat department at Miracle Food Mart in his early 20s and progressed through a variety of portfolios to become president in 1987. When A&P bought Miracle Food Mart in 1990, it promoted Near to president. He passed away in 2012.
