Metro Plus celebrated the opening of a new store, Metro Plus Wilderton in the Côte-des-Neige/Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough of Montreal.
The store location had been closed since January 2019 and following a $10 million rebuild, opened on February 24, 2022.
The nearly 40,000 sq ft store is owned by Tony Brunelle. In addition to the array of store features such as self-serve checkouts, vegan section and bakery offering artisanal local products from Quebec bakery Première Moisson, the new location also houses a kosher section and a 16-foot section for bulk nuts.
The food market includes an Aki Sushi counter offering a selection of high-end sushi, and pizzas that are prepared and baked on-site. The fish counter now includes a fish smoker and a 2.0 bulk seafood bar with more variety, including pre-packaged fish for customers. A team of professionals behind the service counter provides advice and prepares a wide range of fresh and tasty seafood products.
Other offerings include a greater variety of local, ethnic, gluten-free and organic products, artisanal beers, microbrews, fine cheeses and larger value pack products.
