Harry “Arie” Voortman passed away on April 8, 2022. He and his brother Bill founded Voortman Cookies in 1951. Voortman will “be missed and remembered by so many in his other Voortman ‘family,’ made up of employees and distributors who, over many years, contributed with their diverse talents to the success of Voortman Cookies Ltd.” reads a statement from his obituary. In addition to the business, Voortman’s other passion was flying; he was a private pilot and logged over 7,000 hours of flying time.
