2022 inductee

Cori Bonina

The former CEO of Vancouver’s Stong’s Market – and great-granddaughter of founder Carson Stong – Cori Bonina was known for her vision and creativity. When the original store’s lease expired, she opened two state-of-the-art locations that quickly became North Vancouver destinations. Early on, she introduced an online business and innovations such as “Cori’s Kitchen” commissary. She was the first woman to serve as chair of the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers, and in 2016 was named a Life Member. She stepped away from Stong’s in 2019, and remains active within the independent retailer community in Western Canada.
