Industry leaders are getting behind Grocery Heroes Day on July 19. Leaders from across Canada, including Darrell Jones, president of Save-On-Foods and the Pattison Food Group, Anthony Longo, president of Longo’s, Michael Medline, president and CEO of Sobeys Inc., Diane J. Brisebois, president and CEO of the Retail Council of Canada, the Canadian Health Food Association, the Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers, Food, Health and Consumer Products of Canada and many others, are supporting the day to celebrate the heroes in the grocery industry.

“As a proud part of Canada’s grocery industry, we are thrilled to support Grocery Heroes Day,” says Save-On-Foods’ Darrell Jones. “This day recognizes and celebrates the important contribution grocery workers across the country make to their communities every day.”

Diane Brisebois says the Retail Council of Canada is “proud to support Grocery Heroes Day and encourage all Canadians to set a few minutes aside on July 19th to thank our grocery employees from coast to coast.”

Grocery Business Magazine initiated the day to commemorate industry heroes across the retail and food supply chain. For more information, visit Grocery Heroes Day online.
