15th annual Leamington Greenhouse Competition winners announced

Canadian greenhouse growers won big in local and international competitions including

Mastronardi Produce, Nature Fresh Farms, and Red Sun Farms, and their products received awards for flavour and quality, as reported by Fresh Plaza.

Some of the winners include:

  • Red Sun Farms’ Sweetpops (Hottest Tomato, for the Bite Size category)
  • Pure Flavor – Mini Cucumber (Overall Best Cucumber)
  • Nature Fresh Farms – Fresh Red Bell Pepper (Overall Best Pepper)
  • Mucci Farms – Carolina Reaper (Hottest Pepper)
  • SUNSET Mastronardi Produce – SUNSET WOW pearberry (Overall Best Berry)
  • Nature Fresh Farms – Black Label Hiiro’s (Overall Best Tomato)

The Leamington area is recognized as one of the largest greenhouse industries in North America. The neighbourly competition showcases some of the largest greenhouse producers in North America and awards their produce through various categories.

All funds raised from the Greenhouse Competition go to R.E.A.C.H. International. This charity has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to build schools and clinics, drill wells for fresh water, and sponsor and care for impoverished children in Africa.
