Del Fresco Produce Ltd. is the 2019 winner of the “Grow South Essex” Award. The award is part of the Annual Business Excellence Awards sponsored by the Leamington District Chamber of Commerce in Essex County, ON.
The Leamington District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards are given to businesses, individuals and companies for notable contributions to economic development in the Leamington, Kingsville and surrounding areas.

DelFrescoPure was recognized for its expertise and the technological innovation it put to use – including integrated pest management, normally reserved for growing their tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers – to develop its greenhouse strawberries. The resulting Yes!Berries are North America’s first pesticide-free strawberries, certified by SCS Global Services.

“What a thrill to be recognized by the Leamington Chamber of Commerce and our community for our efforts in growing DelFrescoPure pesticide-free Yes!Berries strawberries,” said Carl Mastronardi, president of Del Fresco Produce Ltd. “We are committed to research and development as a means of discovering new varieties of tomatoes, strawberries and more and introducing them to our customers throughout North America.”

DelFrescoPure is a leader in the premium greenhouse industry, growing and marketing greenhouse tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, beans, eggplants and strawberries. The company is family-owned and has been operating for over 50 years in Kingsville, ON.
