Dollarama Q3: 5.3% same-store sales increase

Shoppers spent more at Dollarama stores with third quarter fiscal 2020 same-store sales rising 5.3 per cent and net sales increasing by 9.6 per cent to $947.6 million, above expectations of $936.78 million, compared to the third quarter of fiscal 2019 of $712.43 million.

The same-store sales growth of 5.3 per cent was in improvement over the same quarter a year ago with same-store sales growth hitting 3.1 per cent.

“I am very pleased with our strong top line performance through the first nine months of Fiscal 2020, reflecting the strength of our business model and the continued appeal of our concept to consumers across Canada,” said Neil Rossy, president and CEO. “Based on our performance to date, we are narrowing our underlying full-year comparable store sales assumption to 4.0 per cent to 4.5 per cent, the top end of the previously disclosed range.”
