Farm Boy opens urban fresh concept in Ottawa

Continuing its Ontario expansion, Farm Boy is opening a new location in downtown Ottawa, ON.

Located at 193 Metcalfe Street, the 28,000 square foot fresh urban concept store will showcase fresh products to residents and shoppers in downtown Ottawa. In addition to farm fresh produce, the store will feature butcher quality meats, artisanal cheese and fresh dairy. There will also be an extensive selection of local products and plant-based foods, as well as sweet and savoury treats made in the store’s kitchen.

The store will serve fresh meals with a hot bar, salad bar and fast-casual restaurant offering food that includes gourmet pizzas and freshly rolled sushi. It will also include a made-to-order grilling station offering breakfast, lunch and dinner with daily features that shoppers can take home or eat in a Wi-Fi-enabled seating area.

The store is currently a Sobeys Urban Fresh store and will close to undergo renovations on August 6. Employees will be transferred to work in neighbouring Sobeys and Farm Boy locations while the store is closed for renovation and construction. They will be offered the opportunity to return to the Metcalfe location when it opens as a Farm Boy urban concept store in spring of next year.
