Loblaw Companies Ltd. has upped the ecommerce grocery delivery game by partnering with Metrolinx to offer GO commuters the ability to pick up online grocery orders via Loblaw’s PC Express services at select GO Transit locations.
The service will launch this spring at five GO Transit locations – Bronte, Oakville, Rouge Hill, Whitby and Clarkson – and will expand in phases at more sites in the region.
Depending on the location, groceries will come from a nearby Fortinos or a Loblaws store. The groceries will be waiting in special delivery trucks, in lockers or in an enclosed kiosk.
“This is a logical extension of our increasingly popular e-commerce services, and the growing customer appeal for ordering groceries online and picking them up when it’s most convenient,” says Jeremy Pee, senior vice president, e-commerce for Loblaw Companies Ltd. “With PC Express pick up locations, we’re giving customers and commuters the best brands and products we have to offer, easy online ordering and some time back in their day.”
