Loblaw checks in on simpler labels

Loblaw Companies Ltd. says a recent survey confirms that most Canadians want to see simpler labels on food products.

In the tongue-and-cheek style that also characterizes a recent TV spot for no name Simple Check products, Loblaw’s announcement of the survey results says 85 per cent of Canadians wish food labels were easier to read.

The Loblaw announcement of the survey results drives home the message that the check mark on a no name Simple Check product means that it was made without ten ingredients including synthetic colours, artificial flavours and monosodium glutamate.

The online survey was based on responses from 1518 randomly selected Canadian adults.
