Metro Inc. is investing $19 million to open grocery stores in Windsor, Ont., including a new Metro store in the city’s Devonshire Mall, at the site of a former Target store.

By the middle of 2017, there will be four Metro and three Food Basics stores in Windsor, according to a CBC report.

The $19 million is being spent to build the new 40,000 square foot Devonshire Mall store and to upgrade existing locations.

“Our customers will appreciate our new and improved stores and will enjoy the improved shopping experience,” executive vice-president Carmen Fortino, said in a statement.
