Pusateri’s Fine Foods is laying the groundwork for a rebranding designed to accelerate the upscale grocery retailer’s growth plans.

The grocer has hired Toronto-based Giants & Gentlemen as its new strategic and creative agency, which will be tasked with aligning the grocery retail brand with the executive team’s new competitive strategy and mission, according to Strategy.

The 54-year-old Toronto retailer has grown rapidly over the past few years, most notably with two Food Halls within Saks Fifth Avenue’s locations at the CF Toronto Eaton Centre and CF Sherway Gardens. Pusateri’s plan involves a possible expansion into the U.S. and the establishment of even more relevance for its stores in its newer markets, which include regions in the Greater Toronto Area such as Etobicoke and Oakville.

“We need to provide clear and compelling reasons to shop Pusateri’s, focusing on our points of differentiation,” said Angus McOuat, vice-president, merchandising and marketing. “As such, we were looking to partner with a strategic and creative agency that can help us shape and develop our brand.
