Shoppers Drug Mart and Aurora Cannabis have signed a deal that would see Aurora supply medical marijuana to Shoppers. The deal requires Health Canada approval of Shoppers’ application to dispense medical cannabis, which parent Loblaw Companies submitted in October 2016.
Aurora’s products would be sold online, as current Canadian regulations prohibit the sale of medical marijuana in pharmacy locations.
Shoppers Drug Mart recently signed similar deals with licensed medical marijuana producers Aphria, MedReleaf and Tilray.
Other pharmacies are making similar agreements, for example Maricann Group. and Lovell Drugs, and CanniMed Therapeutics and PharmaChoice.
