Walmart spreads out Black Friday deals to avoid crowds

Walmart U.S. says it is spreading out its traditional one-day Black Friday deals over three weekends in November to reduce crowds in its stores amidst the ongoing pandemic.

The big box retailer says that more of its doorbuster deals will be for online only, as a way to steer more shoppers away from its stores.

For the first time, the discounter will also offer shoppers curbside pickup at its stores for Black Friday orders.

“By spreading deals out across multiple days and making our hottest deals available online, we expect the Black Friday experience in our stores will be safer and more manageable for both our customers and our associates,” states Scott McCall, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for Walmart US in a release.
