Infarm and Sobeys Inc. plan to accelerate the availability and distribution of fresh produce to an additional four of Canada’s 10 provinces by 2023. The partnership launched in 2020 to offer locally grown, Infarm produce to Sobeys Inc. consumers Canada-wide.
The expansion deal supports the plan to construct new Infarm Growing Centres in Toronto (Hamilton), Calgary, Halifax and Winnipeg, scaling active Infarm growing operations to 130,000 ft2, and supplying more than 1,000 Sobeys retail locations nationwide by 2023. The deal complements the existing partnership currently serving Sobeys, Safeway and Thrifty Food locations from existing Infarm growing centres, and the partnership is expected to supply fresh produce to Sobeys locations in all 10 Canadian provinces and territories when fully operational.
