Maxi, Loblaw’s discount banner in Quebec, has opened its 150th store in the province in Ste Lin des Laurentides.
The store is the fourth new store in 2023. In September, the chain opened three new stores in Blainville, Ste-Foy sur Quatre Bourgeois, and Rivière-du-Loup.
Maxi, along with Costco, have increased their share of the Quebec food market, as consumers increasingly flock to discount banners in search of savings, according to an August 2023 analysis by Quebec firm Drako.
