Urban Market Picks and Social Hall is opening a boutique grocery store focused on local produce in Oshawa, Ont., on April 20, 2021.

Creative director Melinda Lemay says it will be focused on local farmers and businesses and filled with locally-made items. There will be a café in the building and the second floor will be a social hall.

“It’ll serve not only the downtown core as a place to grab fresh milk, bread, pastries, fruits and veggies, but it’ll also create opportunity and exposure for local business owners,” says Urban Market Picks’ Instagram page. “We refuse to sit back and watch our world get taken over by big box stores. Amazon, Walmart’s, Apple, Google, etc.”
