Maple Leaf celebrates Earth Day with climate change colouring kit

Maple Leaf Foods is celebrating Earth Day with a limited-edition Picture a Better World colouring kit.

The kits have climate-themed crayon colours and a colouring book. Canadians can order a free kit on April 22, 2021.

Six new crayon colours included are Ocean Green, Sky Orange, Grass Yellow, Forest Black, Sand Blue and Freshwater Brown. The colours are meant to challenge what landscape is supposed to look like and show the environment changing.

“Climate change is happening now, making it essential that education and climate action also happens right now,” says Tim Faveri, vice president of sustainability and shared value, Maple Leaf Foods. “Maple Leaf is committed to doing our part to create a healthy planet for future generations and we are proud to share this commitment with Canadians in a way that brings families and communities together.”

Survey from Angus Reid and Maple Leaf Foods shows that 96 per cent of Canadians care about protecting the environment and 92 per cent want to make a positive impact.

Each colouring book including the packaging is 100 per cent recyclable and the crayons are made from eco-friendly soy and beeswax.
