Metro strikes deal with union in Montreal

Metro has announced that it has reached an agreement with unionized workers from United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 501 employed at its grocery distribution centre in Montreal.

“We are pleased to have renewed the collective agreement for employees at our Grocery distribution centre in Montréal,” says Caroline Larocque, vice president of logistics and distribution in Quebec. “We believe this new collective agreement, which was unanimously recommended by the employee bargaining committee, is fair, balanced and respectful of the needs of customers, employees and merchants. This agreement ensures that our employees continue to enjoy competitive working conditions.”
