Seven out of ten Canadians say they like to try new products and that they’re willing to spend more to get more, according to the results of BrandSpark International’s Best New Product Awards (BNPA).
The study found that Canadians focus on premiumization, health, taste, sustainability, effectiveness and convenience. Seventy per cent say they like trying new products.
“With thousands of new products launched each year, consumers want to know which ones are really the best and deserve their hard-earned dollars,” says Robert Levy, president of BrandSpark.
"Unsurprisingly, 65 per cent of Canadians rely on the recommendations of other consumers to choose which products to buy. This is where the Best New Product Awards program comes in”, adds Levy.
While 78 per cent of Canadians say that taste is the most important factor of food products, 67 per cent are making health improvements.
“Over the past 18 years, the Best New Product Awards has become the most influential awards program for Consumer products and is recognized as the Canadian Shoppers’ Seal of Approval,” says Kim Diamond, VP of the Best New Product Awards.
