Fruit Logistica, the world’s largest fresh produce trade show, takes place in Berlin February 6-8, 2019. This time around the Canadian pavilion at the event will showcase at least 20 companies. It is Canada’s third consecutive year at the event.
“Canada returning to Fruit Logistica will be valuable to keep showcasing to the world what Canada has to offer,” says past Canadian attendee and international trade expert Richie Santosdiaz. “Fruit Logistica’s global attendance is a great platform for Canadian exporters in fruits and vegetables to contact their current and prospective buyers.”
“Promoting international trade and investment with foreign markets is a priority for the Canadian produce sector,” says scheduled delegate Sue Lewis of the Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA). “As an association representing over 860 member companies doing business in the fresh fruit and vegetable sector, CPMA sees the Fruit Logistica show as an important opportunity to engage with current and potential foreign trading partners.”
Other Canadian delegates will include the province of British Columbia, the Fruit and Vegetable Dispute Resolution Corporation (DRC) and Air Canada Cargo.
According to Agriculture and Agrifoods Canada (AAFC), in 2017 Canada exported $695 million in fruits and $1.8 billion in vegetables.
