Google has signed a deal with Carrefour to sell the retailer’s groceries online. Next year, European shoppers will be able to buy groceries from Carrefour through Google platforms such as Google Home, Google Assistant and Google Shopping.
Groceries can be picked up at the store or delivered to the customer’s home.
Carrefour is Google’s first European partner on grocery e-commerce. The deal is part of Carrefour’s “2022 plan” to leverage automation and address its customer base with an omni-channel approach.
Carrefour also plans to open an innovations lab in Paris where it will work with Google to expand its repertoire of customer experiences.
