Costco Wholesale has reported that comparable Canadian January sales rose 2.4 per cent. Comparable U.S. sales for the same period were up 6.6 per cent.

Costco Wholesale has reported net sales of $16.84 billion for the retail month of January, the four weeks ended January 29, 2023, an increase of 6.9 per cent from $15.76 billion last year.

Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year occurred on January 22, 10 days earlier this year. The shift negatively impacted January’s other international and total company sales by approximately 2 per cent and 0.25 per cent, respectively.

For the 22 weeks ended January 29, 2023, the company reported net sales of $99.00 billion, an increase of 7.5 per cent from $92.10 billion last year.
