The Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the MP for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell announced an investment of up to $21.4 million for the youth employment and skills program (YESP).
This will fund about 2,000 jobs for youth in the agriculture sector.
The program intends to support agri-food employers and provide Canadians aged 15-30 with job experience that could lead to a career.
In 2020, the Government of Canada invested $9.2 million to the YESP and funded nearly 1,000 jobs.
Those eligible to apply are producers, agri-business, industry associations, provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous organizations and research facilities.
