Food Basics has opened the doors of its newest location in Bolton, Ont., a 29,499 sq m store. A virtual ribbon cutting ceremony was held on June 25 with Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson and John Manax, vice president of operations, Food Basics, participating.

“As this is our first Food Basics in Bolton and the Caledon region, this is an exciting opportunity for the community to get to know us as a discount grocer,” says John Manax, Vice President of Operations, Food Basics. “During these times when the community is supporting each other in any way possible, we look forward to serving local residents with quality products at always great prices.”

To emphasize its commitment to the Bolton community, a cheque of $2,000 was presented at the grand opening to The Exchange, part of Caledon Community Services, which offers residents of Caledon reliable food support through access to nutritious food and community programs.

Food Basics is taking all the necessary steps to keep employees, customers and the community safe and healthy. The store will be sanitized regularly according to the strictest hygiene standards, including increased frequency of equipment cleaning, especially in high-traffic areas.

Food Basics operates 138 stores across Ontario. Watch the virtual opening.
