The Horizon Group has announced that its two Ontario based distribution subsidiaries, Ontario Natural Food Co. (ONFC) and Corwin Distribution, will be merged later this summer.
The new entity formed by the merger, ONFC Grocery + Wellness, will offer more than 6500 organic and natural products across major categories including grocery, refrigerated, frozen, functional food and beverage, nutritional supplements and personal care.
“We’re excited to be engaged in the broader strategic planning that will allow the newly reimagined ONFC Grocery + Wellness to fourish with a much more comprehensive approach to service and natural product offerings for the Eastern Canadian market,” said Horizon Group vice president Terri Newell.
ONFC was founded in 1976 as a pioneer in the Canadian organic and natural industry, serving independent retailers and co-ops. Corwin has been part of The Horizon Group since 2003 and is an established supplier of grocery and natural health products.
The two companies currently operate out of a shared 115,000 square foot distribution centre in Mississauga, ON.
