Kruger Products and KP Tissue Inc. announced the start-up of their Sherbrooke manufacturing facility, with modern through-air-dry (TAD) technology.
The TAD tissue machine will increase the company’s annual output for Canada and the U.S.
“I congratulate everyone involved in building our new Sherbrooke Plant,” says Dino Bianco, chief executive officer of Kruger Products. “Considering the circumstances of the pandemic, it was an incredible feat to complete this massive project on time and on budget.”
Kruger Products also announced a $240 million investment to expand the Sherbrooke operation. The investment is supported by the government of Québec which is investing $165 million in loans.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to be making this additional investment as part of our strategic growth plan. Sherbrooke will become a major production hub that will work together with our existing facilities to reach our North American markets,” adds Bianco.
The expansion project includes a bathroom tissue converting line, a new facility and a facial tissue converting line.
