Lactalis Canada has launched two direct-to-consumer e-commerce platforms for cheese and for dairy.
Cheeseworld.ca is an online specialty cheese store offering a wide variety of heritage cheeses as well as rare hard-to-find gems from around the world geared toward cheese lovers and foodies alike seeking the specialty cheese shop experience paired with the convenience of online shopping and home delivery. The store features new cheese discoveries regularly and will also provide subscribers with special content in the coming months from chefs, artisans and expert cheesemakers such as recipes, tips on creating the ultimate cheeseboard and perfect food and beverage pairings to complement all types of cheese.
DairyMarketCulinary.ca is targeted to culinary professionals, small restaurants, catering businesses and mom-and-pop shops to deliver on their core dairy needs, with a unique e-commerce option offering an assortment of branded cheese and tablespreads, cultured and fluid items, as well as rotating specialty items.
“Lactalis Canada’s entry into e-commerce is in response to new consumer and customer trends in the marketplace which focus on both the convenience and online experience,” says Mark Taylor, president and CEO of Lactalis Canada. “Cheeseworld.ca caters to the cheese enthusiast looking for delectable new discoveries, while DairyMarketCulinary.ca supplies to a niche segment of the foodservice industry, giving us an opportunity to serve a market different from our retail and foodservice customers and independent to our core business.”
With plans to expand nationally, Cheeseworld.ca is currently available to consumers in the Greater Toronto and Montreal areas, and DairyMarketCulinary.ca currently services the Calgary region.
