Loblaw launches its online delivery service Real Canadian Superstore Exterior big

This week, Loblaw is launching home delivery in London and Windsor, ON.

Loblaw has partnered with Instacart to offer home delivery, charging a $3.99 delivery fee on orders over $35 plus a service charge of 7.5 per cent of the total order price.

Customers use an app to order items from Loblaw or its Real Canadian Superstore locations. An Instacart shopper picks the order and delivers it to the customer’s home within a specified time, which can be as little as an hour.

Home delivery was first launched in December in the Toronto area, followed by Ontario cities Kitchener, Ottawa and St. Catharines in January.

Loblaw is facing brick-and-mortar competition from Walmart, which has also launched grocery delivery and Click and Collect service in Toronto. Further competition may soon come from Amazon’s “AmazonFresh” grocery delivery service as well, though it hasn’t yet arrived in Canada.
