Loblaws City Market will be an anchor tenant of an ambitious downtown Vancouver mixed-use redevelopment. “The Post” is a city-block-sized former Canada Post building in Vancouver’s Crosstown neighbourhood. It is being redeveloped to house 185,000 square feet of retail space – 50,000 of that for the new City Market in the building’s lower floors.
This will be the largest City Market in Metro Vancouver, and the fourth Loblaws store in the region, reports Daily Hive. It will include a cafe, bakery, cooking classes and a variety of fresh and locally sourced items to the thousands of technology workers, businesses and residents in the Crosstown neighbourhood.
The Post will also house specially curated health and wellness offerings, entertainment and convenience services, along with 1.13 million square feet of office space. Amazon will be the major corporate tenant, with 3000 new jobs created as part of its participation in the redevelopment.
