Pronto Eats

Grocery Business stopped into Longo’s newest store format, Pronto Eats, at the Hudson’s Bay Centre in downtown Toronto.

Longo’s spokesperson Rosanne Longo told Grocery Business the thinking behind the store was to create a future-oriented concept to stay relevant and on trend with what shoppers want today.

“We’re always testing new concepts on how we can make peoples’ lives happier and healthier.”

The stores offerings are primarily Longo’s brands with some other branded snacks.

“This is a pilot concept and the plan is to roll out more but it will depend on the success of this store,” says Longo.

The cashless store (debit and credit only) is also plastic bag-free and customers will be able to order online via Grocery Gateway for pickup at Pronto Eats. The store will be open seven days a week. During the week to accommodate workers, the store will be open 6:30 am to 7:00 pm with shorter hours on the weekend.
