The last few weeks have truly been a rollercoaster, from peak sales driven by consumer hoarding to labour challenges due to necessary safety measures. Our efforts to “plank the curve” of the COVID-19 pandemic are drastically changing Canadians’ lifestyles and habits. Social distancing, working from home and self-isolation are influencing how Canadians are living day-in and day-out.
Leading into this Easter weekend, the industry is at a loss for what to expect from consumers as they head to retail outlets. As a sector, we continue to service Canadians exceedingly well, and I want to personally thank all the front line staff at retail and throughout our supply chain who are not staying home, but are feeding a nation. Without you, we would be far worse off.
