Metro has rolled out its online grocery shopping service in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The platform will now be available to 1.9M households in the GTA.
“We are extremely happy to offer online grocery shopping to our customers in the GTA,” said Joe Fusco, Metro senior vice president. “Metro’s online grocery shopping will give customers the opportunity to shop for their favorite products, without having to leave their home”.
Metro has deployed its Tri-Zone delivery trucks for delivery, to make good on its “Freshness Delivered to Your Door” promise. The trucks carry products in three designated, temperature-controlled areas: ambient, refrigerated and frozen.
Metro says customers who shop online can get same-day delivery if they place their orders before 1 p.m. – and next-day delivery for orders placed before midnight. They can also have orders placed for pickup at Metro Millcroft (2010 Appleby Line, Burlington) and Metro St. Clair (2155 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto), the two hub stores currently serving the GTA radius.
