In June 2024, Metro’s largest distribution centre in Ontario will begin shipping fresh produce, meat, and dairy to Metro’s Ontario banners.

Mario R. Duran, director of logistics and engineering at Metro Inc., has shared information about what he calls the next phase of Metro’s Modernization Program which is slated to “go live in Etobicoke, [Ont.]”
“This phase was constructed on the grounds of our Fresh DC and attached to the existing building. The new addition will be fully automated by our partner Witron. Even though these 2 buildings were constructed separately, they are connected,” explains Duran.
