Metro has installed equipment to set up a frozen distribution chain at its Varennes distribution centre, to store and distribute vaccines to its pharmacies in Quebec, Jean Coutu and Brunet.

Metro has joined efforts with Banque Nationale du Canada, Bell, Couche-Tard and the Groupe CH to provide vaccination clinics in the Greater Montréal Area, and together have contributed $4 million to set up the clinics and staff.

The clinics expect to start operating in early May 2021, and will be located at the Bell Centre and Bell Sports Complex in Brossard, Que.

Residents of the area and almost 50,000 employees of the five companies and their immediate family will have access to the vaccination clinics based on the eligibility priority established by the government.
