Olymel acquires TriompheRéjean Nadeau, president and CEO, Olymel L.P. and Mélissa Latifi, president and CEO, Triomphe Foods Inc. (CNW Group/Olymel l.p.)

Pork and poultry processor and distributor Olymel has acquired all the assets of Quebec agri-food company Triomphe Foods.

Triomphe is especially well known for its production of deli meats and specialty hams. Olymel will become the owner of the brands Tour Eiffel, Chef Georges and La Belle Bretagne (hams and pâtés), Nostrano (Italian deli meats), Alpina (Eastern European deli meats), Bilopage (cretons and head cheese) and Mother Hen. The latter is a well known brand specializing in baby food production including organic fruit and vegetable purées and meat purées.

Triomphe employs more than 250 people, and the acquisition includes three Quebec production facilities along with two distribution centres.  

The production and marketing of all Triomphe Foods products and brands will continue as previously, and Triomphe will maintain autonomous management.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
