Local, provincial and federal officials, along with 250 invited guests, joined the staff and the owners of Mariposa Dairy to celebrate the completion of the Lindsay, Ont., company’s new, state-of-the-art cheese making facility.

The new 50,000 sq.-ft. plant marks the second time Mariposa Dairy has moved into larger facilities since it was established in 1989 by Bruce and Sharon VandenBerg in an 800-sq.-ft. farmstead building. The dairy has occupied a 22,000-sq.-ft. facility in St. David since 2007.

Mariposa Dairy has partnered with Gaylea Foods (they draw from 120+ goat dairies) and Finica Food Specialties, which is part of the Gellert Group. Mariposa Dairy’s award-winning Celebrity brand chevre and Lenberg Farms brand artisan cheeses are sold throughout North America.
