The boards of directors of the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) and the United Fresh Produce Association will combine resources to create a new global trade association.

The two associations will continue independent operations this year, and begin the new association at the beginning of 2022.

PMA chief executive officer Cathy Burns and United Fresh chief executive officer Tom Stenzel have worked with board leaders to develop their strategy for the new association.

The new association will be led by Burns and Stenzel as co- chief executive officers through 2022, after which Burns will become the sole chief executive officer.
